Challenge

One of the main companies in the food and beverage sector has entrusted us with the task of strengthening the resilience and reliability of its “core business” infrastructure, consisting of servers, virtual machines and applications. The existing infrastructure, while supporting critical processes, had some limitations in terms of business continuity and cost control, with risks of interruption that could compromise productivity and service quality.

The need was twofold:

1. Ensure a redundant and resilient IT platform, capable of supporting critical workloads and ensuring business continuity even in the event of failures or emergencies.

2. Optimize management and maintenance costs, identifying scalable solutions that would allow the company to grow while keeping the operating budget under control.

Our Approach

We have adopted a comprehensive and structured approach to ensure resilience, security and business continuity, designing and implementing a scalable, high-performance infrastructure.

Technological implementation

The project developed through the following key phases:

Design and implementation

· Design of the architecture and service model, with particular attention to business continuity needs.

· Implementation of the solution and controlled migration of critical environments to the new system.

· Activation of management and evolution services to ensure continuity and constant updates.

Technology adopted

· Infrastructure hosted in the IBM Cloud datacenter on the Madrid Campus, chosen for reliability and security.

· Disaster Recovery environments located in a second datacenter more than 20 km away, to ensure geographical redundancy and resilience to failures.

Thanks to this structured and integrated approach, the organization has achieved tangible benefits both in operational and strategic terms:

Optimizing IT costs

The transition from a Capital Expenditure model to an Operational Expenditure model has allowed a more efficient management of infrastructure costs, with the possibility of paying only for the resources actually used.

Flexibility and scalability

The use of IBM Cloud has made it possible to increase or reduce physical resources based on business needs, eliminating waste and capacity constraints.

Advanced Disaster Recovery

Combination of on-demand partition provisioning in IBM Cloud and constant replication of backups through redundant VTLs, ensuring redundancy and faster recovery times.

Increased operational efficiency

Thanks to the IBM Cloud platform, infrastructure management has become simpler and more agile, with less burden on internal IT teams. ‍
