The Israeli-US and Iran conflict in cyberspace
February 28, 2026 marked a further escalation in the conflict between Israel, the United States and Iran. The military attacks and the Iranian missile response against Israeli targets and US bases in the Gulf region have been accompanied, from the beginning, by a less visible but equally strategic front: the digital one.

The new front of the conflict: cyberspace
During the operations, there was a drastic drop in Internet connectivity in Iran, largely attributed to internal restrictions imposed by the authorities, but at the same time, cases of defacement of websites and digital disruption activities also emerged.
It is difficult to establish precisely which actions are attributable to state operations and which to hacktivist groups. What is evident, however, is how cyberspace is now an integral part of the war dynamic.
In this domain, targeted operations, at low costs, capable of hitting symbolic or vulnerable targets are sufficient. The media and psychological impact may exceed the real strategic impact, amplifying the perception of instability.
What does it mean for companies?
For companies, this scenario is not remote.
In contexts of geopolitical crisis, even for our realities, they are increasing:
- conflict-themed phishing campaigns
- Demonstrative DDoS attacks
- theft and publication of sensitive data
- opportunistic ransomware actions
- mistrust in non-European cyber-technologies

Play early for a proactive defense
In a conflict that extends to cyberspace, defense cannot only be reactive. To really protect yourself, you need to play early: strengthen monitoring, update incident response plans, test the resilience of infrastructures and reduce the attack surface before someone tries to exploit it, so as not to lose business continuity.
Don't get caught unprepared, we can help you protect your business with “made in Europe” technologies: do not hesitate to contact us.
